What Does “clean skincare” Mean To Us?
Ask people what clean beauty means to them, and you will get a different answer from every person. To us, it means that we take the utmost care when it comes to formulating and manufacturing, to ensure that we make products that are free from ingredients linked to harmful health or environmental effects.
We select each ingredient with careful consideration as to whether it falls within our “clean science” parameters and our strict (ever-growing) list of ingredients we avoid. As science and medical discoveries advance, so will our list of acceptable ingredients. We work hard to substitute commonly used ingredients that may not be considered harmful, but ultimately don’t do anything positive for your skin. For example, you won’t find Alcohol Denat in our products.
You will NEVER find the following ingredients in an FA product:
- Formaldehyde,
- Parabens
- Phenoxyethanol
- Phthalates
- Ethanolamine
- Compounds
- Sodium Laureth Sulfate
- Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
- 1,4 Dioxane
- Siloxanes
- Silicone
- Dimethicone
- Coal Tar Compounds
- Aluminum Salts
- Toluene
- FD&C Synthetic Colors
- Synthetic Fragrance
- Polyethylene
- Triclosan
- Urea
- BHA
- BHT
- Cetearyl Alcohol
- Alcohol Denat.
- DEA
- TEA
- MEA
- ETA
Another thing you won’t find in our formulas is a synthetic preservative system. We don’t believe that there is any reason to extend the life of products using strong preservatives just so they can sit on the shelf longer. This is why we use natural preservative systems, and manufacture in fresh, small batches.
Transparency is important to us. We want to help take the guess work out of decoding product ingredient labels. On every product page you will find a complete ingredient list with an explanation of what the ingredient is, and why it is in the formula.
